How we work, and who you work with
We are a specialist EdTech managed service provider and IT infrastructure integrator. We take the burden of IT off schools and trusts so they can focus on teaching and leadership. Here is how we are organised and the people behind it.
Education, and nothing else
We do not split our attention across other sectors. Our engineers do not context-switch between schools and corporate accounts. That focus is the reason a school can pick up the phone and reach someone who already understands the setting.
Kaizen: continuous improvement
Kaizen is the practice of continuous improvement. We are organised around its four stages internally, so the way we work matches the way we describe what we do.
Scope
Listen, audit, discover. Strategic ICT planning, technical roadmapping, Cyber Readiness, and capacity reviews.
Design
Architect, blueprint, specify. Network and security design, capacity planning, configuration, and integration planning.
Deliver
Build, install, deploy. Procurement, infrastructure and AV installation, cloud deployment, commissioning, and handover.
Refresh
Manage, operate, evolve. Named-tier managed services, monitoring, lifecycle management, and re-assessment on rhythm.
Two businesses, one group
Medhurst Communications provides managed IT, networking, cyber, safeguarding, and devices. Hugh Symons Audio Visual provides specialist AV integration: interactive panels, projectors, hall and room audio, and large-format displays.
Under one group, AV and managed IT come from the same accountable partner, which is rare in our market.
Named people
Our leadership team is named on the live site where consent allows, including Sean Donohoe (Chief Sales Officer), Charlie Baynes (Capital Programmes), Tom Barrett, and Dave Smith (Operations).
